Steve Weber grew up in the New York metro area and received a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. He then moved to California and began law school at the University of San Francisco on a partial academic scholarship. During his time in law school he was a contributor and editor for the University of San Francisco Law Review and represented his University in the National Moot Court Competition. Steve was also active in politics and was elected to the McAuliffe Honor Society.
He obtained firsthand experience working as a law clerk in San Francisco while still in law school. This gave him insight into the legal system and showed him that individuals who lacked an understanding of the system were in great need of representation. This insight led to a career protecting the rights of individuals wrongfully injured.
In his first professional position, his employer / mentor had suffered a health problem which required Mr. Weber to handle the bulk of the firm’s active cases. He presented an argument before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a murder case just weeks of being admitted to the California Bar. Within the next month he tried his first case in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of California. He tried his first jury case in the San Francisco Superior Court three months later.
Steve Weber has tried a number of cases throughout Northern California and the Western states involving individuals injured by motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, product liability and more. Aside from personal injury, Steve has experience in securities and medical malpractice litigation.
Outside of the legal profession, he worked at mostly blue-collar/no-collar jobs to pay college and law school tuition. In addition, he served as a military officer both on active duty and in the reserves for more than eight years: Captain, U.S. Army (Infantry).
Mr. Weber is admitted to practice law in all federal and state courts in California as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.
He has served as a judicial arbitrator for the superior courts of San Francisco and Marin counties and as a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration and as a Kaiser medical malpractice party arbitrator.
